Halle Berry, 53, dropped the ball about her taking in consideration playing a transgender role in an upcoming movie. In the said talk, Berry provided few details about her “so-called” preparations of an upcoming film, saying she fancies in experiencing more of “that” world and being able to understand it, denoting to the transgender life.

As Indiewire, the upcoming film Berry mentioned is yet to be revealed. Berry also points out during the Instagram Live interview that she is not yet officially appointed to play the transgender role but she has been preparing about it.

The “The Call” star speaks about the offered role as a woman who fully transitioned into a man. Despite the doubts, Berry cannot deny that the character interests her in getting the role. "Who this woman was is so interesting to me, and that will probably be my next project," she said.

However, during the interview, a lot of the viewers were able to pin out Berry giving offensive remarks to the character. Among of the feedbacks Berry received is from the productions behind the Netflix produced “Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen” documentary.

“Simply disrespectful and inappropriate,” @misshazeljade commented.

Another Instagram user even called out Brown by not uplifting the transgender community over Berry’s insulting remarks. “…instead you sat there complacently. Saying you speak for the LGBTQ community, yet staying quiet at such a crucial moment speaks volumes of your character,” @kfsharp1219 wrote.

After receiving social media recoil, Berry then took on Instagram stories to apologize and later on posted it on her Twitter account. Berry thanked all of the guidance and feedback she received after the interview that led her to gain wider understanding to the transgender community. Having all those said, Berry made a decision of backing out of the said role. The actress highlighted on his statement that she will listen, educate, and learn about her mistake, vowing to be a strong ally to the community in using her voice in portraying diverse characters on-off screen.
