Henry Cavill has been playing the role of Superman for the past decade. Director Zack Snyder cast him in 2011’s Man of Steel. The movie was released in 2013 and the 37-year-old actor portrayed Superman character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

While the future of Superman’s character in movies is in dark, there is rumor about Cavill appearing in other movies soon other than Man of Steel 2. Recently, actor Patrick Stewart and Cavill had a conversation with each other on Actors on Actors for Variety issue on June 24.

In this conversation, both iconic actors spoke about Star Trek: Picard and The Witcher, respectively. However, Stewart looked curious to know about Cavill playing the iconic character of Superman to which he said that the role has taught him a lot of himself.

The role of Superman seemed different for Cavill in a way that it appeals to the children. The 80s and 90s kids may know that he is not the bad man from Mission: Impossible – Fallout or Agent Solo from The Man.

Cavill admitted that while playing such a character, one has to carry the mantle even when someone is off the set. While the actor mentioned that the character is wonderful and he is happy to play it again but it comes with a huge responsibility.

He further added that Superman's character became a part of his public representation. The Count of Monte Cristo actor confessed that when he meets children, they don’t necessarily recognize him as Henry Cavil but Superman that puts a huge responsibility on his shoulder.

Cavill told Stewart that the character of Superman stands for justice, truth, and the American style but those themes have not been a dominant part in all the Cavill’s movies. He has starred in a trio of movies that showcased the immense amount of burden on Superman, responsibility to save humanity, and yet blame himself whenever he is unable to save everybody.

The actor appreciates and understands the quid pro quo of portraying Superman and boost that his career has received so far, which he doesn’t take lightly. Cavill said that his life has been changed in a dramatic way because of Superman movies.

While Cavill has received plenty of opportunities in his life and yes, Superman has been one of those characters that changed his entire life. He summed his interview and said that he is a huge fan of Superman.
