Kate Middleton and Prince Williams shared their pictures on Instagram where the couple was seen working from their home at the time of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in self-isolation mode right now and are working from their home. Middleton’s picture captured her without her familiar engagement ring.

People reports that Prince William and Middleton shared pictures on their Instagram account this Sunday. The pictures show the royal couple in a serious working mode. In one of these pictures, the mother of three was seen dressed in a coral pink suit from Marks & Spencer.

The Duchess had worn the same suit on a call center visit with her husband recently. She had left her hair loose while visiting the NHS call center. Her fans, however, observed that the royal mom was not wearing her sapphire diamond ring, which also happens to be her engagement ring.

Kate Middleton’s sapphire sparkler originally belonged to Princess Diana, her late mother-in-law. In place of her engagement ring, the princess was seen wearing a simple gold band.

According to some studies, removing rings lead to more effective hand washing. This, in turn, can prevent the coronavirus spread. So, many feel that the princess removed her ring so that she can wash her hands properly at this crucial juncture to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Georgia State University conducted a study in 2018 according to which rings may create “a protective area” where bacteria can grow. The study also revealed that people who are not in the habit of wearing rings have a greater chance of killing bacteria while washing their hands as compared to those who are wearing them regularly,

Rochelle Walensky, who heads the Massachusetts General Hospital’s infectious diseases division, has advised that she feels removing jewelry or rings while washing hands is a great measure for restricting the spread of the coronavirus. She also advises that people can limit wearing ornaments right now if removal is not possible for them.

However, this is not the only time the Duchess has taken off her engagement ring. The Duchess had also removed her sparkler earlier this year during her visit to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, New Idea reports. The hospital has a policy for people to wear minimal jewelry.

Kate Middleton takes out her ring frequently especially when she visits hospitals. It could be because she possibly likes to wash her hands properly prior to visiting the hospital wards.
