Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud has been attributed to Meghan Markle joining the royal family.

However, a royal expert said that the siblings have already drifted apart even before Prince Harry tied the knot.

In the book Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Friendship and the Feuds, author Robert Lacey claimed that the siblings drifted apart after realizing that their future plans are different.

Lacey said that Prince William and Prince Harry were once inseparable especially while they were growing up. And they became much closer to each other following their parents’ divorce and Princess Diana’s death.

But as they got older, Prince William and Prince Harry took on very different duties and responsibilities because one of them is the heir, while the other is a spare.

Presenter Jeremy Paxman also claimed that the royal siblings’ feud may have stemmed from one of their arguments in front of the Princess of Wales. Years ago, Prince William declared that he didn’t want to be king.

After hearing what Prince William said, Prince Harry declared that if his brother didn’t want to be king, he would gladly take over the important role.

Paxman also claimed that the Duke of Cambridge has always been jealous of Prince Harry because he has more freedom as the spare.

However, none of the sources claims have been confirmed or denied by Prince William and Prince Harry. More recently, there are allegations that the siblings had a falling out just before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot.

Sources claimed that Prince William warned Prince Harry about marrying Markle because he felt that the couple didn’t know each other very well. Prince William was reportedly just concerned about his brother.

However, the Duke of Sussex took Prince William’s advice negatively. Prince Harry also felt that Prince William didn’t support his desire to marry the woman of his dreams.

But on his wedding day, Prince William still served as Prince Harry’s best man. And the siblings were all smiles while watching Markle enter St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle two years ago.

In Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Prince Harry admitted that there are good days and bad days with regards to his relationship with Prince William.

But he also said that as siblings, they will always love and support each other. Shortly after the documentary aired, Prince Harry and Markle announced their decision to quit The Firm.
