Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife, Princess Marie are allegedly thinking about quitting the Danish royal family.

According to New Idea, Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped in after hearing the news. The Duchess of Cambridge gave Princess Marie a piece of advice after experiencing what it’s like to lose two senior royals post-Megxit.

“Kate told her the best way to deal with it was to rise about any difficulties and show a calm face to the public. The most important thing was to leave the door open if they changed their minds,” the source said.

While speaking with the publication, royal commentator Phil Dampier said that Prince Joachim and Princess Marie may be inspired to quit their duties after learning about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell exit.

“Harry and Meghan’s departure from the British royal family has probably speeded up any thoughts Joachim and Marie had about going their own way,” he said.

Dampier also claimed that just like Prince William and Prince Harry, Prince Joachim and Prince Frederik also have a longstanding rivalry. The Danish royal siblings are also very competitive with each other.

Last year, Prince Joachim announced his decision to further his military training in Paris. And while tending to his training, he took his entire family along with him.

Now that his training his over, the Danish royal family is waiting for Prince Joachim and Princess Marie to announce their next move. And the fact that they haven’t made any announcements is causing tension within their family.

“Soon Prince Joachim will have completed his military training in Paris and up until now, he has not revealed what the family will do afterward. The education he has completed might very well lead to a job outside Denmark’s borders,” Her & NU have been suggesting.

The publication is also speculating on the possibility of Prince Joachim following Prince Harry’s lead by distancing himself from the Danish royal family.

However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. As late, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have not yet confirmed their decision to quit their royal family.

It is also unclear if Princess Marie really spoke to Middleton recently.

Prince Joachim of Denmark also made headlines this week amid reports that he will become the country's attache to France. The recent appointment suggests that he and his wife have no plans to quit their royal duties.
