The actors of the movie “Contagion”, the virus thriller, which released in 2011, had a virtual reunion recently to alert the masses on the deadly coronavirus. Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Jennifer Ehle, and Laurence Fishburne came together to warn people about the pandemic COVID-19.

The actors collaborated with some scientists from Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University. They came up with four separate homemade videos that aim to spread the message of unity and safety, Hindustan Times reports.

The plot of “Contagion” was about a virtual virus and became immensely popular after the viewers noted how similar the virus spread in the film was with the spread of coronavirus. Winslet and Damon along with their other co-stars came up with some enlightening pieces of information.

In her PSA, Kate Winslet says, “Wash your hands like your life depends on it.” On the other hand, Ehle stressed that no person is immune from novel coronavirus. She added that each person irrespective of his/her ethnicity or age is vulnerable to getting affected by the virus.

Steven Soderbergh directed the film that dealt with the topic of a fast-moving and deadly influenza spreading all over the world. Meanwhile, Matt Damon notes in his video that the film is moving up on the chart for obvious reasons.

Damon mentions that he wishes to discuss social distancing in his video, which people have been hearing about on television.  Metro mentions that the actor ended his message by mentioning that other generations had to do many extraordinary things. However, the current generation is only being asked to stay at home.

In the film, Damon was seen in the role of a person who had immunity to the virus. He stressed on the importance of obeying the directions of the experts, as well as, maintaining a distance of six feet from another.

The actor also feels that no one is immune to coronavirus including him. Damon further said that because it is a new virus, it will take some time for the scientists and physicians to understand it fully.

On the other hand, Fishburne has appealed to the viewers to help the frontline medical staff. He feels that if the spread can be slowed down, the medical staff will have a better chance to win the battle against the virus.

Scott Z Burns, the screenwriter of the film wrote all the PSAs. He was guided by the same team of health experts who had given their inputs for the film. Actress Kate Winslet’s husband helped her to shoot her clip.
