Following a health battle that put a brief halt to his career, Jamie Foxx is set to make a comeback on the small screen, co-hosting a novel musical game show, "We Are Family," with his daughter Corinne Foxx. The show, slated for a 2024 premiere, is a unique twist on the music guessing game genre, with the Foxx pair guiding the proceedings.

Each episode of "We Are Family" will present one celebrity hidden from view, partnered with a non-famous relative. The studio audience, guided by a series of clues, much like in the popular show "The Masked Singer," will need to uncover the identity of the celebrity to win up to $100,000.

In a shared statement, Jamie, 55, and Corinne, 29, expressed their excitement about the show: "We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam. We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we've had creating it when it premieres next year."

"We Are Family" isn't the first time this father-daughter duo have collaborated on a music-oriented program. They currently host FOX's "Beat Shazam," a show where contestants guess songs to increase their prize pot.

Jamie's return to television is a significant step forward following a health ordeal that resulted in his hospitalization for a part of 2023. The specific medical issue remains undisclosed, but Corinne confirmed in mid-April that her father had suffered a "medical complication."

Corinne recently updated fans about her father's recovery, stating, "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating." She also hinted at an upcoming "work announcement," now known to be their collaboration on "We Are Family."

In the meantime, while Jamie continues to regain his health, Nick Cannon has stepped in as a substitute host for "Beat Shazam," with Kelly Osbourne covering for Corinne.
