EXO's Kai shed tears while communicating with fans.

On May 3, Kai held a live broadcast to interact with his fans. Reading fans' comments, he cried and said, "'Lover' promotions were fun, but it would have been nice if I could have done more." He comforted his fans, saying, "Time goes by fast. Didn't time fly between 'Peaches' and 'Lover'? I wanted to talk more back then. Time will pass quickly, and 'Lover' will come out. Time will go by quickly this time too."

He continued, "I'm okay. I've been a trainee since I was 14, and I started dancing when I was 8. I've always loved dancing, and before I knew it, I became a singer. Being a singer, I found that I enjoyed meeting fans even more than dancing and singing. I've been working hard for over 20 years, so I can wait." He expressed his regret, saying, "I had a lot prepared, and it's a shame. But there was nothing I could do. Let's meet after doing what we need to do. It's upsetting that I had so much prepared, but I can show it after I return."

Kai confessed, "Actually, it was so sudden that I was worried. I'm fine, but I thought (the fans) might need some time to prepare. But would anything change if they prepared? I just wanted to see their faces before I leave. Please understand that it's my first day, and I will be smiling starting tomorrow."

Lastly, Kai promised his fans, "When I come back, there won't be any more separations, right? I will do my best until I leave, and I will find a way to meet and see your faces before I go."

Earlier in the day, SM Entertainment announced, "Kai was preparing for EXO's scheduled comeback this year, but due to recent changes in the Military Manpower Administration's regulations, he will be enlisting in the army training center on May 11th. After completing basic military training, he will serve as a public service worker."
