This Easter season brought more than just sweet treats for Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank. On April 9, the 48-year-old star announced that she and her husband of four years, Philip Schneider, had welcomed twins into their lives. Sharing a photo on Instagram of herself holding the newborns, she wrote, "It wasn't easy, but boy (and girl!) was it worth it."

The new mom described her experience as "pure Heaven." According to a source close to the couple, Swank has been thoroughly enjoying these first days with her babies, embracing everything from cuddles to frequent feedings, crying, diaper changes, and afternoon naps. "Hilary is loving every minute, even the sleepless nights. Philip has been wonderful, too. He's so hands-on and helps with everything, including the laundry. They're a tag team, and they have to be. Having two babies to care for at once is a lot of work!" the insider told Life & Style.

Fulfilling a Longtime Dream

Hilary had previously expressed her desire to have children. When revealing her "miracle" pregnancy on Good Morning America in October, she said, "This is something that I've been wanting for a long time. I can't believe it."

Throughout her pregnancy, Swank shared updates with her fans, including pictures of her growing baby bump and workout routines. Upon the announcement of her twins' arrival, many fans and celebrity friends—including Mariska Hargitay, Kate Hudson, Lindsay Lohan, Viola Davis, Sharon Stone, and Katie Couric—offered their congratulations online. However, it may be some time before she responds to these messages, as she is currently focusing on bonding with her babies. "She knows she will need to hire extra help when she goes back to work, but for now, she's doing everything herself with Philip," the insider shared.

Navigating the Unexpected

Despite their preparations, neither Hilary nor her venture capitalist husband, Philip, 45, could have anticipated everything that comes with raising twins. "They are amazed at how fast they're going through diapers and outfits, and how many loads of laundry need doing," the source revealed.

Nonetheless, the first days at home with the twins have been a dream come true for the new mom, according to the insider: "Her favorite times are the quiet moments when she's cuddling the babies in her arms, they've been fed, changed, and are just hanging out with Mom."
