Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), former head of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, argued on Sunday that President Biden's campaign tactic of falsely accusing The New York Post's groundbreaking Hunter Biden laptop story of being Russian disinformation had a more significant impact on the election than any foreign interference. During an appearance on the "Cats Roundtable" radio show, Johnson revealed that the FBI had possession of the laptop since December 2019 and knew it was authentic.

However, the Biden campaign managed to convince 51 former intelligence officials to sign a letter discrediting the Post story as Russian propaganda without any evidence. Mike Morell, the then-acting CIA Director, has since confessed in sworn testimony to the House Judiciary Committee that he organized the infamous letter after discussions with members of the Biden campaign, including current Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who was a top adviser at the time.

Senator Johnson expressed his frustration, stating, "They wrote a letter to interfere in our election to a far greater extent than anything China or Russia ever could hope to do." He emphasized that the impact of the letter on the election far exceeded any foreign adversary's efforts and that the facts are now undeniable.

Johnson highlighted Morell's involvement on behalf of Blinken and the Biden campaign, and how the false claims were used by Biden in his debate against then-President Donald Trump. Biden cited the letter at the second and final presidential debate, falsely asserting that The Post's information, which was later widely corroborated, was the result of a "Russian plant."

The GOP senator expressed hope that Biden and his team will be held accountable for the deceptive tactic, which led to The Post story being censored by Twitter and Facebook. He said, "The truth is slowly starting to be pried out. Bit by bit. Piece by piece. It's the truth that we've all known about."

Johnson concluded by pointing out that the specifics are now known regarding the letter from the 51 intelligence officials who covered up the Hunter Biden laptop story. The Biden administration, including Blinken, has yet to comment on the scandal.
