Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly took a huge gamble with how they chose to handle their private lives.

In the documentary Kate: The Making of a Modern Queen, author Catherine Meyer claimed that Prince William and Middleton gave off the impression that they weren’t doing very much for the royal family.

Even with the advent of technology and social media, it seemed as though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn’t want to concern themselves with these things. Even though they were somehow criticized for this, Meyer said that this would be beneficial in the long run.

In the short term, Prince William and Middleton may have received the ire of the press because they tend to shut them down. And there is also the danger that the public might think that the royal couple isn’t doing much.

But, over the years, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have learned that the press is essential so that they could get their message across. As such, they have become more active on social media.

Middleton has also been appealing more to the public by sharing photos of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis that she took herself.

Kensington Palace warned the public about taking photos of the young royals. And to protect their privacy, Middleton has taken the liberty of sharing her kids’ photos herself.

Royal reporter Emily Nash said that Prince William and Middleton have also realized that there’s a growing interest in their private lives because they are public figures.

As such, Prince William and Middleton have reportedly become more open when it comes to sharing some parts of their life with the public.

And with the COVID-19 pandemic, the royal couple has also opened their home for the royal fans. Prince William and Middleton’s interviews usually take place at Anmer Hall.

Meanwhile, Middleton also made headlines this week amid claims that she didn’t see Tatler’s story before it was published. A source told The Sun that Middleton is hurt and upset over the article especially since the publication’s editor-in-chief, Richard Dennen was her friend back at the University of St. Andrews.

Tatler writer Anna Pasternak was the one that wrote the story about Middleton and Prince William. She said that Middleton thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are selfish for quitting the royal family.

Kensington Palace immediately debunked the claims. But, Dennen said that he and the publication are standing by their writer’s accounts.
