Portia de Rossi recently surprised Ellen DeGeneres with a renewal of vows ceremony on the former’s birthday.

But according to Life & Style, The Ellen Show host was less than thrilled because she doesn’t like surprises.

“There was definitely more to the vow renewal than anybody knows. Ellen was secretly fuming both during and after the ceremony. While most people in attendance said it was a sweet gesture, others are whispering that the whole thing is a sign of trouble in Ellen and Portia’s relationship,” the source said.

On top of this, DeGeneres allegedly thought that the timing of the ceremony just wasn’t right. After all, she and de Rossi have allegedly having problems in recent months.

“During their vow renewal, Portia joked about the outrageous number of homes the two of them have owned because she’s tired of moving. Portia wants to put down real roots. If Ellen gets antsy in a few years and decides to pick up and move again, Portia may not have it in her,” the source said.

According to the source, de Rossi decided to hold the ceremony on her birthday as a final act of Hail Mary to try and save their marriage. But it all depends on the couple if there will be changes.

“Portia had nothing but good intentions. The renewal was meant to help save their marriage. They do love each other so, hopefully, it will be Ellen’s wake-up call,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that DeGeneres was upset when she found out that de Rossi organized a renewal of vows ceremony for them. If she didn’t want to go through with it, she wouldn’t have done it just for the sake of the cameras.

It’s not also true that DeGeneres and de Rossi are dealing with problems in their marriage. All these rumors about the couple splitting and divorcing have been going around for many years. But the fact that they are still together today proves that all the rumors are baseless.

DeGeneres and de Rossi also share good banter. So, it’s highly likely for the latter to have only been joking when she complained about all the times that they moved and flipped houses.
