Barack Obama celebrated his wife, Michelle Obama, on her birthday via a sweet post on social media.

On Tuesday, the former President of the United States took his birthday greeting to Instagram. He shared a photo of himself with the former First Lady in his arms as they watched the sunset.

In the caption, the 61-year-old politician wrote, “Happy Birthday,” and tagged his wife’s official account. He noted, “You make every day brighter,” before adding, “and somehow keep looking better!”

The post has amassed over 1.2 million likes, with more than 12,700 comments from netizens who shared their respective greetings.

HollywoodLife shared in its report, covering the social media update, that Michelle Obama commented on Barack Obama’s post. She is said to have done it with a red heart emoji and a kiss emoji.

The publication also said the former First Lady reposted the sweet greeting from her husband on her Instagram Story. In the post, she added a “love you” sticker, which seemingly served as a response to his tribute.

The “Becoming” author later thanked everyone for all the greetings she received on her birthday via Twitter. She said, “Thank you all for the birthday love. I say this a lot, and I mean it - I love you back, and I am so grateful for you supporting me during every step of my journey.”

In December, Michelle Obama talked about her marriage to Barack Obama.

At the time, Fox News reported that the former First Lady discussed the matter during an interview with Revolt earlier that month.

Citing the exchange, the publication said Michelle revealed that she “couldn’t stand” Barack when their children were young.

In its report, published later in December, it quoted her from the interview, saying in part, “People think I'm being catty for saying this: it's like, there were 10 years where I couldn't stand my husband.”

It continues, “And guess when it happened? When those kids were little."

Reports said Barack and Michelle Obama first met at a Chicago law firm in 1989. They tied the knot in 1992 and now share two children, whom they welcomed in 1998 and 2001.

In October, the former President and First Lady of the United States celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They paid sweet tributes and shared heartfelt messages to mark the relationship milestone via social media.

At the time, People released a report, covering the posts of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. It noted that he shared a series of photos on Instagram, while she did the same on Twitter.
