Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are completing all the decorations for their Christmas celebration.

On Instagram, the 39-year-old actor posted a video, showing himself and his wife as they try to reach the top of their massive Christmas tree at home. In an effort to place the star on top of the tree, he lifts his wife onto his shoulders while their children watch and cheer on them.

In the clip, the celebrity couple appears to struggle to reach the top as they come up a few feet short. But, Hemsworth keeps cheering on Pataky, telling her she “can do it,” while he grunts, jumps, and even stands on his tip-toes to succeed with the task.

Eventually, Elsa Pataky grasps the topmost branch of the Christmas tree and pulls it toward her, allowing her to place the star on top. But, while their children cheer on them as they manage to complete the decorations, Chris Hemsworth exclaims, “Oh, my spine.”

The “Thor” actor shared in the caption that he and the “Fast Five” actress tried the same task last year, adding that it was him on his wife’s shoulders, but “nor the tree or @elsapataky’s knees made it.”

Even so, he said, “After 12 months of preparation we finally figured it out. A star is born!!”

The post has since amassed more than 1.2 million likes, and thousands of netizens commented on the clip.

It all comes weeks after Chris Hemsworth made headlines for his surprising announcement about his decision to step back from acting. People noted in a recent report, covering the latest social media update, that the actor discussed the matter after learning he was at higher risk for Alzheimer’s disease.

In November, the “Avengers” star had an exclusive sit-down engagement with Vanity Fair, wherein he talked about the discovery, which he made amid filming an episode of his docuseries, “Limitless.”

At one point in the exchange, Hemsworth stated that the show, alongside the discovery, “really triggered something in me to want to take some time off.” He continued, “And since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do.”

The “Extraction” actor then stated, “Now when I finish this tour this week, I'm going home and I'm going to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife.”

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky first met earlier in 2010. Later that year, they tied the knot after making their red-carpet debut two months prior.

The celebrity couple welcomed their first child in May 2012 and had their twins in April 2014.
