Meghan Markle allegedly feels threatened by the thought that Kate Middleton will set foot in the United States very soon.

In its Dec. 8 issue, Closer UK claimed that Markle fears that Middleton will capture the hearts of Americans during her visit. And this could result in the Duchess of Sussex losing supporters on her own turf.

“Meghan will put a brave face on it, but it’s well known she’s having a bit of a meltdown that Kate is taking over her territory and could well outshine her. Kate and William are still very much liked and respected in the US and to the vast majority, the brutal reality is that Meghan couldn’t hold a candle to Kate as far as being a quintessential princess is concerned,” the source said.

The source said that even before her trip to the United States, Middleton is already getting so much love and support from royal fans. And it’s a no-brainer that she will gain an even bigger following during and after her overseas tour.

However, none of this sits well with Markle, who has always allegedly been jealous of her sister-in-law.

“But now, instead of being the center of attention, Meghan will be worried that it’ll be all about Kate. The news media will swoon over her and William. Kate very much has the edge over Meghan right now in the popularity stakes,” the source said.

According to the source, there is a possibility for Prince William and Middleton to meet some of their friends in the US. And these same people are also close to Prince Harry and Markle. So, at the end of the day, it might be a good look because they might eventually choose to side with Wales instead of the Sussexes.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Markle is worried about being upstaged by Middleton. Both women are popular in the United States and they have different numbers of supporters in the country. So, there’s really no upstaging each other.

It’s also important to note that Middleton will travel to the United States for a series of royal engagements and not to outshine or compete with Markle.

At the end of the day, it’s obvious that the tabloid just made up this story about Middleton and Markle in an attempt to pit them against each other again.
