Ruby Rose was roped in to be included in CW's comprehensive TV show roster back in 2018. The vast roster included popular series based on Legends of TomorrowSupergirlBlack LightningArrowThe Flash, and a myriad of other DC Comic heroes. A recently released Fox News statement confirmed that the 34-year-old actress isn't willing to reprise her iconic role as Bruce Wayne's cousin Kate Kane.

With Rose's introduction, Arrowverse series fans were excited about the inclusion of an LGBTQ character to the beloved franchise. What makes Rose's casting even more empowering is the fact that she is openly gay. As expected, Batwoman garnered positive reviews when it premiered in Oct. 2019, and The CW has understandably renewed the series for a second season.

Much to the chagrin of Rose's huge fan base, the Orange Is the New Black actress will not be reprising the titular role. She even refused to divulge details about her decision to walk out of the show, leaving no choice for her fans but to hazard all sorts of guesses regarding her unexpected departure.

The initial excitement surrounding Ruby Rose's casting in Batwoman dwindled quickly. The actress even deleted her social media accounts after being trolled, bullied, and harassed. As if that weren't enough, she endured a serious back injury while filming the series and had to undergo emergency surgery.

The CW didn't seem to stop Rose from discontinuing her contract, it looks like things didn't get better between them. It is worth noting that the Arroweverse has never done something like this before. The Australia's Next Top Model co-host released a statement that described her decision to walk out of Batwoman's next season as a difficult one.

Rose explained that she didn't make this decision lightly as she has immense respect for the cast, crew members, and everyone involved with the show in Los Angeles and Vancouver. Warner Bros., Berlanti Productions, and The CW released a joint statement, thanking the actress for her work but focused more on moving ahead and finding a replacement new lead for the upcoming season.

While the actress continues to remain mum about her decision to leave the show, there's hearsay that she could not handle the show's harsh filming schedule. According to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, Rose wasn't pleased and things were so bad that no one from the show’s team thought she would be a part of the next season.
