Matthew Perry is clarifying the statements he made about Keanu Reeves in his new and upcoming memoir. He apologized, as well, noting in a statement that he misspoke when he appeared to have questioned why the actor “still walks among us.”

People said that it all comes after The New York Post and Variety released several excerpts of the “Friends” alum’s memoir, “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” earlier this week. It stated that both publications shared sections of the material, wherein he talks about the “John Wick” star.

In a statement to the magazine, Perry clarified that he is a “big fan” of Reeves. He also apologized for using the actor’s name, adding that he should have used his instead.

The outlet, in its report published Wednesday, quoted the actor from his statement, writing, “I’m actually a big fan of Keanu. I just chose a random name, my mistake. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead.”

Page Six previously released a report covering what Matthew Perry said about Keanu Reeves in his memoir.

The 53-year-old celebrity writes, “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?” after claiming, “It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down," as per the outlet.

The publication consequently recalled that the “17 Again” actor worked with River Phoenix in his first movie, “A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon,” in 1988. It also pointed out that the late actor was Reeves’ long-time best friend.

But, this is not the only time Perry mentions the “Matrix” star’s name in his memoir, which will drop on November 1.

Page Six added in its report published Tuesday that the “Friends” alum takes another dig at Keanu Reeves in the memoir as he discusses Chris Farley’s death.

Matthew Perry writes, “I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us,” as per the outlet.

The actor worked with the late “SNL” star in a comedy title, “Almost Heroes,” which premiered in 1998.

Page Six later noted in the same report that the "Three To Tango" actor and the "Speed" star have not worked on any film project together.

Meanwhile, People shared elsewhere in its report that several individuals, including celebrities, expressed their support for Keanu Reeves. These are said to have included Lynda Carter and Rachel Zegler, with the latter stating, “personally thrilled that keanu reeves walks among us.”
