Mariah Carey allegedly refused to stay in her Atlanta-area mansion following a scary burglary incident.

In its Oct. 17 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Carey still hasn’t gotten over the scary burglary incident that exposed some private things about the singer.

“The break-in rattled her. She’s still feeling violated and can’t shake the horrible images of some stranger going through her personal belongings. She doesn’t feel safe sleeping in a place where she’s fearful it could happen again. It’s an unsettling scenario she just can’t get past,” the source said.

The source claimed that Carey is eyeing a potential move to Aspen because it’s one of the places where she feels safest.

“She does love it in Aspen and could see a situation where she’d live in that area at least part of the year. Or maybe a ranch in Colorado or even a different part of Georgia. She’s excited about a fresh challenge and doesn’t want to dwell on the break-in ordeal,” the source said.

While it is true that Carey’s home was burglarized while she and her two kids were vacationing in Italy and the Hamptons, it’s not true that the incident traumatized Carey to the point that she wants to leave her mansion and relocate elsewhere.

The burglary incident that happened in her Atlanta-area home has also been dealt with by authorities. So, there’s no reason for Carey to be worried.

Meanwhile, the “All I Want For Christmas” singer also made headlines recently after her interview with Meghan Markle was released.

Prior to Queen Elizabeth’s death, Carey had a conversation with Markle about the term diva and the negative connotations attached to the label.

But Carey pointed out that the term doesn’t always mean negative. She said that when Markle is called a diva, it is possible because of her popularity and a huge following.

Throughout her career, Carey has also been called a diva by her fans but most especially by her critics. However, she was never affected by their remarks. In fact, the singer sees this as something positive.

Other than her interview with Markle, there were also rumors that the Duchess of Sussex desperately wanted to be friends with the singer but she refused. Markle allegedly invited Carey to her home when she first moved to Montecito, but Carey declined her invitation.
