The investigation surrounding the fiery car crash that has left Anne Heche in a coma is ongoing. But, authorities have confirmed that a warrant to test her blood was obtained.

A police spokesperson told People of the matter, noting that the LAPD obtained the warrant on the day of the accident. However, the official results have yet to emerge as the investigation continues.

The magazine consequently shared what legal analyst Emily D. Baker has said about the situation, especially about the warrant and length of the investigation. As stated, getting permission to test the "Donnie Brasco" actress's blood was likely not difficult despite the police not witnessing the accident.

The expert, who is a former Los Angeles County deputy district attorney, is noted to have explained that in consideration of the two car crashes, alongside the ring camera footage, "it would have been an easy search warrant to get." She added that getting warrants "are commonly done" as it is "not an unusual or slow procedure," hence, they are "able to be obtained very quickly any time."

Baker also reportedly pointed out that investigations into potential reckless driving charges are "typically completed 'pretty quickly.'" But, in the case of Anne Heche, she is said to have asserted that it "may be delayed by various factors."

The magazine then quoted the legal expert, saying, "Since she's in hospital, I imagine they will take their time. They're not going to be in a hurry to arrest."

It continues, "Also because she's a public figure, they're probably going to take a little more time. And depending on how long she's in the hospital, she's not going anywhere."

BBC said a rep for Anne Heche has recently confirmed that she is still in a coma following the accident. It comes days after news broke that she was in a “stable” condition.

Speaking to the PA news agency, the spokesperson stated that the previous claims were “inaccurate.” As added, “[she] became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition,” shortly after the fiery car crash on Friday.

The publication later quoted the rep, saying, “[Heche] has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the public learned about the whereabouts of Anne Heche before the accident. It comes after the owner of Glass Hair Design in Venice Beach shared his encounter with the actress minutes prior to the crash.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Richard Glass revealed that the “All Rise” star came into his hair studio and bought a red wig. He also pointed out that he did not observe anything out of the ordinary.

The outlet quoted the salon owner, saying, “[Heche] was not speaking in cursive, I say that when people are impaired.

Glass continued that the celebrity was “very cordial,” “very personable,” and “very polite” during their ten-minute exchange. He consequently shared that the encounter “was not huge, but it was strange all the same and random,” before adding that “it was an amazing, kind interaction.”
