Queen Elizabeth is not retiring or abdicating amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, OK! magazine claimed that there are whispers in the palace about Queen Elizabeth stepping down permanently from her role.

The dubious claim was made shortly after the monarch’s royal engagements were canceled due to the pandemic.

A source claimed that the queen dedicated her entire life to the crown so she’s ready to hand over the reins to her successor. The insider said that Prince Charles takes over the top job.

The source also alleged that even though the Queen adores Prince William, she feels that Prince Charles can perfectly and equally lead the monarchy.

But the rumor-debunking site, Gossip Cop said that the claims made by the tabloid are incorrect. Even though the past couple of months may have been difficult for Her Majesty, she isn’t retiring or abdicating.

The publication also noted the fact that the Queen has been resolute all her life. But despite all of the struggles that the royal family is facing, she always puts her duties to the country first.

Her Majesty cannot also legally name her successor. After all, her eldest son is the heir apparent. And the only way for changes to the order of succession to be made is through the British Parliament.

Meanwhile, other publications have also claimed that the Queen is stepping down from her role because of the pandemic. In Touch Weekly even went as far as saying that the monarch named Prince William and Kate Middleton king and queen.

A source told the tabloid that the queen’s life is on hold. And she, allegedly, doesn’t have any idea if she can return to work. As such, she decided to pass on her duties and roles to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The insider also claimed that the monarch knew deep in her heart that it’s time for Prince William and Middleton to step up. But as Gossip Cop previously said, the queen doesn’t have the right to change or dictate the order of succession.

As such, the only way for Prince William to be king is if Prince Charles dies or abdicates. Until then, Prince Charles will continue to be the queen’s heir apparent.

The monarch is quarantining with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle. While it is true that there’s no guarantee that the queen will be seen in public again, she continues to do her tasks at the comfort of her home.
