Prince William and Kate Middleton are allegedly preparing themselves for the possibility of leading the throne sooner rather than later.

In its July 12 issue, Closer UK claimed that Prince Charles’ cash-in bags scandal put the heir to the throne at risk of losing his future role. If he is proven guilty, Prince Charles may no longer be allowed to ascend the throne.

A source claimed that if this happens, Prince William and Middleton would have no other choice but to step up. Luckily, the couple is already ready for their future roles because they have been preparing for it for years.

“Charles’ aides have defended him in the face of these accusations, but there’s a private acknowledgment among courtiers that the vast majority of the British public would rather see Kate and William on the throne after the queen. And this type of scandal might only increase Charles’ lack of popularity,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that Prince Charles has the support of the royal family because he hasn’t been proven guilty.

“William is fully supportive of his father, as is Kate. However, if circumstances were to change and they’re called to take the throne sooner rather than later, then they have to be ready. They’re widely regarded as the hardest-working members of the royal family and while William has been in training for his whole life, Kate is also very aware of what the role entails after being part of the family for over a decade,” the source said.

Throughout the years, Middleton has adapted the queen’s mantra of never complain, and never explain. She has also stayed silent amid Meghan Markle’s allegations that she made her cry.

“Kate has shown incredible diplomacy and aptitude, with a willingness to step up whenever she’s needed. But even for her, the idea of actually becoming queen so much sooner than expected is somewhat daunting and pushes her to the limit. She’s run off her feet juggling her incredibly hectic royal schedule with being a full-time mom, it leaves her very little down time, so giving her even more to do than she already has now would be a tough task,” the source said.

As of late, Prince Charles has not yet been proven guilty of anything. And there’s also no word that Prince William could ascend the throne sooner rather than later.
