Princess Diana was reportedly convinced that Prince Charles slept with Camilla Parker Bowles two nights before they tied the knot in 1981.

In the book Charles: The Man Who Will Be King, royal author Howard Hodgson revealed that Queen Elizabeth hosted a dinner party for Princess Diana’s family and friends two nights before the royal wedding. Camilla and her then-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles attended the bash.

Following the event, Camilla and Andrew left the venue together. Prince Charles and Princess Diana retreated to their separate suites that night.

However, the Princess of Wales felt in her gut that Prince Charles and Camilla hooked up that night. The royal author said that the late royal harbored the imaginary picture of the Cornwalls hooking up in her mind until she convinced herself that it really happened.

A day before the royal wedding, Prince Charles hosted a party for his own staff. Some witnesses that saw the royal couple confirmed that Prince Charles and Princess Diana didn’t sleep together on the night before their wedding.

Since Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom was staying at Clarence House then, she seemingly gave Prince Charles the opportunity to spend time with Camilla.

On the day of the wedding, Prince Charles also made a touching gesture to Princess Diana. The heir to the throne wrote a letter to his fiancée telling her that he would wait for her at the altar.

Prince Charles also reminded Princess Diana to keep calm and carry on. He also urged the Princess of Wales to look everyone in the eye and knock them dead.

On the day of the wedding, Prince Charles also gave Princess Diana a signet ring, which she wore at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s mom, Frances Shand Kydd came to her former son-in-law’s defense amid claims that Prince Charles didn’t really love Princess Diana.

While speaking with Hello! magazine, Kydd encouraged those who are doubting Prince Charles’ sincerity to look at all of his wedding photos and videos. Kydd said that Prince Charles and Princess Diana showed genuine happiness and deep affection for each other at that time.

However, it seems that there was so much more going on between the royal couple behind closed doors. Prince Charles and Princess Diana decided to separate 11 years after they tied the knot.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce became official in 1996.
