Gwen Stefani is allegedly returning to The Voice to save her marriage to Blake Shelton.

In its June 13 issue, National Enquirer claimed that working together on The Voice is the perfect bonding experience for Stefani and Shelton. And being on the same show also means that they can have more time with each other.

However, a source also claimed that Stefani wants to secretly use her return to prove to the world that she’s done playing second fiddle to Shelton.

“Gwen’s tired of playing the supportive bride at home while America watches Blake on TV every week,” the source said.

The source claimed that Stefani thought Shelton would be able to spend more time with her and her kids after The Voice announced that they would be cutting an entire season every year.

But to her surprise, the country artist announced that he wants to do tours and perform live for his fans.

“But then Blake announced that he wanted to do a concert tour. And when Gwen suggested a joint tour, he shot her down because he feared their audiences don’t match up. So, Gwen decided to head back to The Voice. This way, she can get back into the spotlight and spend more time with Blake,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

There’s no indication that Stefani decided to return to The Voice to show the world that she doesn’t want to play second fiddle with her husband.

It seems more sensible for the No Doubt singer to want to spend more time with Shelton that’s why she decided to return to The Voice. But even then, it’s also possible for Stefani’s schedule to be more open these days that’s why she decided to return.

Meanwhile, there have also been rumors claiming that Stefani upset Kelly Clarkson when she returned to The Voice because the latter felt that she was being replaced.

However, Clarkson has a valid reason for quitting The Voice this season. The American Idol winner will be focusing more on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, as well as on spending time with her two children.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just pitting the two female singers against each other for the simple reason that they are very close.
