Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may make a “surprise appearance” on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The International News reported that the claims were from Omid Scobie, who co-authored “Finding Freedom.”

During a recent conversation in London, the royal expert stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral. But, he reiterated that the former working royals “will not be out” on the balcony of the palace during the Trooping the Colour on June 2.

Despite this, Scobie asserted that the royal-born Prince and his wife could make a “surprise” and appear, alongside Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the British Royal Family, on June 5. As noted, the British Royals will be on the balcony of Buckingham Palace again on the said date.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to make any confirmation regarding the matter. Likewise, the palace has not released any announcement, informing the public about the pair’s participation.

It, nevertheless, stated earlier this month that only official working royals will join Queen Elizabeth II in the traditional balcony appearance during the Trooping the Colour. This means the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be included as they are no longer undertaking official public duties.

The members of the Royal Firm who will be present on the balcony include Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

It is unclear when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will fly back to the United Kingdom. But, it is likely that the pair, alongside their two children, will arrive this week if they were to attend the Thanksgiving Service.

As to where they would stay in the country, The Sun previously reported that the Sussexes are “expected” to return to their former home, Frogmore Cottage, according to Express UK. It was also stated that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who currently reside in the property, will open the cottage’s guest bedrooms for the family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s return to the U.K. marks their second time as a couple since they left in 2020. They secretly met Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles in Windsor earleir in April.

It will also be the first time for their youngest child to meet the rest of the British Royal Family.

Meanwhile, many individuals are not seemingly happy about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the country. Royal columnist Amanda Platell even recently wrote in her piece for the Daily Mail that the former working royals “are not welcome,” adding that she believes she is “speaking for many.”
