Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly pressured to deliver some big for their supporters.

In his column for Closer UK, PR expert Nick Ede talked about the recent changes in Prince Harry and Markle’s professional and personal lives.

Shortly after they relocated to the United States, it was revealed that Prince Harry and Markle signed a multi-year deal with Spotify and Netflix.

The Duke of Sussex is busy filming his documentary for the streaming platform, and Markle was supposed to release an animated series called Pearl.

But after losing millions of subscribers and getting into a lawsuit, Netflix decided to cancel some of its upcoming animated shows.

Days later, it was confirmed that Prince Harry and Markle won’t be joining the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

Now, Ede believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should do something huge to salvage their reputation.

“When Harry and Meghan first moved to Hollywood and branched out on their own, they were hot property. The media giants were all chomping at the bit, and Harry and Meghan were keen to make as much money as possible, so they signed legacy deals – contracts lasting more than five years – which gave them a hell of a lot of money. These deals are great, but it also means you have to deliver. There’s no escaping that they haven’t produced much yet,” he said.

Talking about Pearl, the PR expert said that the public might think that the series was axed even though money was already invested on it because it would flop regardless. And this would’ve caused more harm than good for Markle and Netflix.

“My advice would be for them to just create the content and get stuff out. From a PR perspective, I really wouldn’t have promoted those massive deals until they had tangible, actual content, because now they are under a huge amount of pressure and scrutiny. They both need to desperately get their heads down and get working. People are going to get confused, frustrated, or bored otherwise,” the source said.

However, it is important to note that Ede’s statements and suggestions are entirely his own. It’s only a matter of time before Markle announces a new project for Netflix because she’s bound by a contract with the streaming giant.
