The Met Gala 2022 will take place on the first Monday of the month of May. While the guests are top secret, Vogue releases the official list hours before the exclusive event begins.

The publication has yet to provide the names of the invited guests and attendees. But, Just Jared released a report earlier on Monday, revealing some celebrities who will skip the event.

In its post, two personalities are listed, noting that they will be absent at the gala despite having invitations. These are Zendaya and Dua Lipa, who have other prior commitments in their respective careers.

The outlet recalled that the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actress already confirmed her absence a few weeks ago. She told Extra that she hates to “disappoint” her fans, but she would be working on the said date.

The 25-year-old celebrity is said to be gearing up for her upcoming movie, “Challengers.” She ensured her followers, however, that she “will be back eventually.”

As for the “Levitating” singer, she will reportedly be in London, England, for her “Future Nostalgia Tour” on Monday. With this at hand, it would make attendance at the Met Gala 2022 “impossible.”

Life & Style magazine previously released a similar report, detailing which celebrities will and will not likely attend the exclusive event. Apart from Dua Lipa and Zendaya, it is speculated that Rihanna will unlikely be at the Met Gala 2022.

As explained, the “Ocean’s 8” actress is reportedly due to welcome her first child with A$AP Rocky in early May. In addition, her rapper boyfriend is “out on bond” after his arrest in Los Angeles International Airport last April 20.

Accordingly, with all that is happening in their private lives, it is said to be unlikely that she would attend this year’s event.

On the other hand, some of the celebrities who will be at the Met Gala 2022 include Megan Thee Stallion and Katy Perry. Page Six reported that the two artists even confirmed what they intend to do at this year’s event, in terms of their ensembles and sartorial pieces.

It, also, recalled how the exclusive engagement draws the “biggest celebrities” over the years. These include Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift, who all made it to the gala multiple times. So, many are seemingly expecting their attendance on Monday night.

Reports said this year’s dress code is all about “gilded glamor.” As per Vogue, the event “will ask its attendees to embody the grandeur, and perhaps the dichotomy, of Gilded Age New York.”

Serving as celebrity co-hosts for the event are Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
