Addressing his Cabinet members in a White House meeting, Donald Trump revealed that the order assigns tremendous power to them so that they can cut regulation. This order instructs federal agencies to use its authority to remove, adjourn, or even eliminate regulations that are unnecessarily delaying economic recovery, the president explained before he signed it with a black-tinted felt pen.

Trump said they want to leave it that way. Trump has focused on nixing regulations, particularly those introduced by former President Obama while he has been in office, which is for over three years. On Tuesday, he failed to explain his deregulation efforts and attribute them to a historical perspective.

During the three and half years in the office, Trump said, the current administration has eliminated more regulations than other administration or any other presidency. The acting White House budget director, Russell Vought announced the current administration's record-breaking red tape.

As part of their COVID response, Vought wrote the administration took numerous temporary deregulatory actions and they do not plan to stop doing it. Referring to the E.O., Vought said it will urge agencies to make as many deregulations permanent as possible while coming up with new ways to deregulate in an attempt to get the economy back on track.

Trump is under a lot of pressure from conservative groups that are urging him to cut several regulations as part of his re-election effort. According to legislators and right-leaning organizations, it is imperative to cut the federal rules to jump-start the economy that has been hit the hardest by the pandemic.

To ensure that comes to fruition, Trump is doling out broad authorities to his Cabinet officials, allowing them to review federal guidelines and rules from their perspective and prepare a list of regulations that in their opinion should be signed off by the White House on cutting, Independent reported.

On Tuesday, Trump said he is asking agencies to permanently suspend several regulations that they have already suspended as part of their coronavirus response. Aside from that, the POTUS said agencies will have emergency authorities that enable them to expedite new rules or regulation cuts to create more jobs and prosperity while eliminating unnecessary rules, as well as regulations.

Before signing the order, Trump visited the Capitol Hill where he urged GOP senators to adopt an aggressive approach and touted his "Obamagate" theory that suggests the former administration set up an illegal campaign to hamper his 2016 campaign.
