Will Smith continues to make headlines these past few days. Following the infamous “slap” incident at the Oscars, the talks about the matter remain apparent.

On Sunday, some celebrities even made jokes about it at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. OK! magazine said that Trevor Noah was the first one to make the reference during his opening monologue.

The comedian was warming up the audience as he gave them a “sneak peak” of what the night awaited. He stated that they would be “listening to some music,” “dancing… and singing,” and “keeping people’s names out of our mouths.”

The publication said that Noah was referring to Will Smith’s words during the Oscars after slapping Chris Rock across the face on stage. He shouted at the “Grown Ups” actor, saying, “keep [Jada Pinkett Smith]’s name out of [his] f***ing mouth.”

The altercation came after Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife while presenting an award. Although he first let out a laugh upon hearing it, the actor seemingly walked up the stage after reportedly noticing Pinkett Smith's annoyance.

Trevor Noah was not the only one who made a reference to the infamous Oscars incident at the Grammys last Sunday. Musician Questlove, also, poked fun at the matter while presenting the Song of The Year award.

The “Summer of Soul” director told the audience that he “trusts” them to “stay 500 feet away” from him. BuzzFeed said that this was an indirect reference to the slap incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

Questlove, also, noted in his presentation that “this is now a special moment for someone.” Although it remains unclear whether it was still related to the Oscars slap, the outlet asserted that it could have been a reference to his own win getting “overshadowed.”

Fans and followers would recall that Rock was presenting the award for the Best Documentary Feature at the Oscars on March 27. Questlove won the gong, leading to his acceptance speech immediately after the altercation occurred on stage.

Will Smith has since apologized to Chris Rock, the Academy, nominees, and the rest of the public who witnessed the incident at the Oscars. He has, also, since resigned from the organization, with him confirming the decision through an official statement on Friday, according to BBC.

The “King Richard” actor acknowledged that his actions during the ceremony were “shocking, painful, and inexcusable.” He admitted, as well, to hurting a “long” list of people, including “Chris, his family, many of [Smith]’s dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.”

The Academy, later on, accepted the resignation. It noted, though, that it would “continue to move forward” with its disciplinary proceedings.
