Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the British Monarchy reportedly took a toll on Prince William. But, aside from their exit, the interview they had with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, also, left him at his “lowest point.”

Express UK reported that a royal author made the claims, which are a part of an extract of an upcoming book. Robert Hardman printed some parts of his material, “Queen Of Our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II,” ahead of its official release next week.

He writes that the Duke of Cambridge felt the “added anguish” upon seeing the controversial interview. It has reportedly caused pain on his part, considering the brother “he had protected,” is “now throwing incendiary and, in some cases, unanswerable charges into the public domain, fully aware of their likely impact.”

The expert continued that even a friend of the future King had similar assertions, saying it sent him at his “lowest.”

Prince William, much like the rest of the British Royal Family, has maintained their silence about the bombshell interview. He, however, once addressed the press about the matter, clarifying that they are “very much not a racist family.”

At the time, the royal-born Prince, also, revealed that he had not spoken to Prince Harry yet. But, he countered that he plans to do it.

In September, a royal commentator claimed that the Duke of Cambridge is “having a hard time” moving on from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah. The report came from Cheat Sheet, which noted that it was Neil Sean who made the assertions via Express UK.

The commentator revealed that someone had told him of the subject, adding that the infamous interview was “diabolical.” He shared, as well, that Prince William is unlikely to move on from that event “because he does not see a reason” behind it.

Sean explained that the oldest Wales prince does not understand the motives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as to why they sat down for the interview in question. He, then, stated that it “could be their very own undoing.”

As for the rest of the public, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex obtained mixed reception following the bombshell sit-down engagement. While some individuals praised the former working royals and criticized the Royal Firm, others did the other way around.

Whatever the case, though, Prince William and the rest of the British Royal Family appear to be placing their focus more on the future of the monarchy. They have since continued to fulfill their respective duties and responsibilities across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries.
