An opinionated article from the February 28 issue of Globe stated that the American public "picked class over crass." This comes after a new poll shows that Kate Middleton is more than twice as popular as Meghan Markle in the United States.

As explained, 68 percent of the respondents across the country picked the Duchess of Cambridge as the "best." Only 31 percent chose the Duchess of Sussex, which appeared to be surprising considering she is an American.

Whatever the case, though, the outlet's material asserted that the results of the poll go to show the Sussex Royals have not fooled many U.S. residents with their "woke rebranding" since their exit from the monarchy in 2020. It added that Americans appear to have recognized the future Queen Consort as "cool and classy," while seeing the former actress as "hypocritical wannabe."

The publication's "no-nonsense opinion page," also, made some comparisons between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. To support its claim of the former working royal being a "wannabe," it recalled a Textile industry group, YnFx.com report, which revealed the two Duchesses' spending on clothes in recent years.

As claimed, the Duchess of Cambridge shelled out $85,097 for her sartorial pieces in 2018, while the Duchess of Sussex spent a whopping $509,278 in the same year alone. The report is said to have emphasized that the former actress had "five times more than" what the future Queen had, adding that she has the "most expensive close in the world among the royal families."

In the end, the article asserted that it is "no wonder" why the respondents picked Kate Middleton over Meghan Markle. What was reportedly shocking, though, was the latter had "managed to fool 31 percent" of the data's population.

Express UK covered the same poll earlier this month. It noted that the survey first emerged on The Sun, adding that Prince William's wife appears to be "America's favorite Duchess."

In response to the poll, royal commentator Christopher Andersen shared a few words about the Duchess of Cambridge. He suggested that she has a "real ability to connect with Americans."

The expert, also, highlighted how the future Queen Consort has "become an even bigger superstar" without ever reaching the United States in recent years. He argued, however, that the royal "embodies everything Americans expect in a princess," who is destined to become Queen.

Meanwhile, the case appears to be the same in the United Kingdom. The latest poll from YouGov reveals that Kate Middleton is one of the most popular British Royals in the country.

As for Meghan Markle, she is second least popular, following Prince Andrew on the list.
