Meghan Markle is allegedly upset with Jennifer Aniston because she feels the actress and her Friends' co-stars upstaged her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In its Jan. 3 issue, New Idea claimed that Markle is disappointed that her interview with Winfrey failed to make an impact at the recent People’s Choice Awards, losing out to the Friends reunion special.

“That one really hurt Meghan. She thought that by coming back to showbiz as a duchess, she would climb over the likes of even Jennifer Aniston in the Hollywood hierarchy, but so far it seems Jen’s profile still remains higher. Rubbing salt in the wound is the fact that Jen repeatedly rebuffs Meghan’s invites to come to her Montecito home for dinner,” the source said.

However, there’s no competition between Markle and Aniston. And it’s unlikely for the Duchess of Sussex to think that she can outdo Aniston. After all, The Morning Show star has been in the industry for years.

It’s not also true that Aniston is to blame for the success of the Friends reunion special. After all, it was a team effort among her co-stars and the staff and crew of the hit show.

Markle’s interview with Winfrey was never in the running for an award at the People’s Choice Awards. Instead, the interview received flak shortly after it aired.

There were allegations that Markle and Prince Harry lied to Winfrey during their conversation in March. The couple accused the royal family of being racist, and Markle also claimed that Kate Middleton made her cry before her royal wedding.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also revealed that Markle wanted to take her own life amid all the criticisms that she was receiving from the press. And when they asked the royal family for help, they refused to offer the couple support.

However, it’s unclear if the couple’s statements are indeed lies or they were just misinterpreted by their critics. What’s only known is that there are always two sides to a story so it’s possible for Markle and Prince Harry to have narrated their version of events.

Following their allegations of racism, the queen released a statement saying that the people’s version of events oftentimes varies. This shows that the monarch knows that Prince Harry and Markle’s recollection of certain events may be different from what others can remember.
