Meghan Markle is allegedly very strict with her and Prince Harry’s finances.

And since she’s the one that handles the budget at home, she allegedly requires Prince Harry to give her receipts of everything he buys no matter how cheap or expensive.

In its August 22 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Markle also monitors Prince Harry’s spending to make sure that he’s not using their money for anything England-related.

A source also claimed that Markle wants to teach Prince Harry the importance of saving that’s why she doesn’t always say yes to whatever he wants to buy.

As an actress, the Duchess of Sussex also earned a huge sum of money. But she opted to rent a house in Canada, where she filmed Suits instead of buying one.

“Meghan is wealthy now, but the mindset of saving money because it might disappear any day has stuck with her. She’s tried her best to bring Harry around to her way of thinking,” the source said.

However, Markle’s budgeting has allegedly become a problem between her and her husband. After all, Prince Harry grew up to be very privileged.

But even if this is the case, the dad of two is trying his best to lives up to Markle’s ways to avoid any more disagreements.

“The word is they have joint bank accounts and she looks over every expense like an accountant. Harry wanted to surprise Meghan with a gift for her 40th birthday on August 4 and the only he could do it was to borrow money from a friend,” the source said.

However, the tabloid’s claims are not exactly accurate. Prince Harry and Markle’s finances are a private matter so no one knows for sure who’s in charge of budgeting.

But even if Markle is in charge of the finances, it doesn’t make sense for her to monitor Prince Harry’s personal spending.

Additionally, there’s no need for Prince Harry to borrow money for a friend if he wanted to give Markle a birthday gift. After all, he has his own money. And he has inherited millions from his great-grandmother and late mother years ago.

As for Markle, she also has money from her acting gig. And while it is much smaller compared to what Prince Harry has in his bank account, it’s still hers.

After tying the knot, the couple must have opened their joint bank account.
