America Ferrera has found two reasons to celebrate Mother's Day. She has just announced that she is now the mother of two children, as she gave birth on May 4 to her daughter, Lucia.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 'Ugly Betty' actress posted on her Instagram a picture of her child's hand. She captioned her post with "LUCIA MARISOL WILLIAMS arrived on May 4th to give me my Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself. Mama, Dada & Big Brother are over the moon to welcome her bright light to our family."

Aside from the sweet welcome to her newest child, America also asked that if any of her friends would ever want to give a gift for what was supposed to be her daughter's canceled baby shower, she asked for a donation in her name instead. She specified Yes We Can Mobile Schools so that children and mothers at the border will be able to play and learn and have the essentials that they will need.

The said baby shower was supposed to be hosted by her friend Eva Longoria but due to the pandemic, it had to be canceled. She had earlier shared that she felt some anxiety at the idea of giving birth during this time. But it seems that everything has gone smoothly despite the risk of the coronavirus.

The 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' alum, as reported by The Daily Mail, just celebrated her 36th birthday last month. Her husband, Ryan Piers, organized a surprise Zoom birthday party to celebrate the memorable event. One of the guests was none other than Amber Tamblyn, one of her co-stars. America has stayed good friends with her 'Sisterhood' castmates, including Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively. They would reunite from time to time and are always there for each other.

The baby shower was not the only thing that had to be canceled. Her exit from her show 'Superstore' was also not filmed because production had to be closed down. The NBC show had to end their fifth season with one less episode due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is highly likely that her character Amy Sosa's exit will be highlighted in the next season of the show.

America Ferrera shot to fame with her portrayal of Betty Suarez in the comedy-drama 'Ugly Betty', which won her many awards, including a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy series.
