Meghan Markle and Prince Harry paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth with their chosen name for their daughter.

However, in its June 28 issue, Globe claimed that the person the Sussexes were trying to pay tribute to wasn’t exactly thrilled.

A source claimed that Prince Harry and Markle insulted Her Majesty by calling their daughter Lilibet or Lili because they turned the queen’s regal name into something casual.

“Naming the baby Lilibet is outrageous. I’m told Her Majesty is desperately unhappy about it and other senior royals are stunned. If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex thought this would mend bridges with the family they’ve trashed as cold, uncaring racists, they are very much mistaken,” the source said.

The insider said that it wasn’t surprising to learn that the couple decided to call their daughter Diana. But it should’ve stopped there.

“They’ve taken the queen’s name with no regard for her feelings and turned it into what will likely become a trendsetting moniker for wannabe royals in America,” the source said.

But regardless of what the tabloid says, a source close to Prince Harry and Markle revealed that the couple informed the queen about their daughter’s name beforehand.

And the fact that the Sussexes still used the name proves that the queen didn’t have any issue with it.

But despite the source’s clarification during an interview with USA Today, other publications still continued to accuse the couple of disrespecting the monarch.

Meanwhile, Markle also made headlines on Sunday to share what she gave Prince Harry on Father’s Day two years ago.

While speaking with NPR Weekend Edition, Markle said that the poem in her children’s book The Bench was just part of her present for Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex also talked about her book and said that she sees The Bench as kind of a love story.

Last week, The Bench ranked first on the New York Times’ best-seller list. And to celebrate the milestone, the Suits alum talked about the book on their Archewell website.

Markle revealed that the book began as a love letter to her husband and son. And she hopes that the book will encourage inclusivity and representation within the different communities across the globe.

“In many ways, pursuing a more compassionate and equitable world begins with these core values,” Markle wrote.
