Friends: The Reunion arrived on HBO Max on May 27, 2021, and many fans anticipated it. Although the hit sitcom concluded in 2004 after running on NBC for 10 years, the 90s show remains popular until now. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer reunite for the first time after 17 years, but one tabloid noted something happened behind the scenes.

According to a report from National Enquirer, Cox is allegedly not happy that Aniston got more screen time during the reunion. The tabloid claims that the latter was “hogging” the spotlight while promoting Friends: The Reunion, filming promos, and doing several interviews. Allegedly, this upsets her former co-star and has led to some issues between them off-camera.

The outlet also cited a source who asserted, “The producers wanted Jen to take center stage at most of the interviews and promo ops, and nobody really argued with that at the time because there was an informal understanding that the others would still get plenty of headlines.”

The same unnamed insider added that the event turned into a “Jennifer Aniston show” and Cox's biggest issue is that she finds her “very bossy and egotistical.” Everything has got more complicated when it was revealed that Schwimmer and Aniston had a mutual crush on each other during the first season of the sitcom, and this allegedly upset Cox even more.

“Courtney found it ironic Jen would make such a big deal about her ‘feelings’ for David, given that Jen always denied it back in the day!” the source claimed.

The main question now is whether there’s, indeed, a tension between the former co-stars. First, a source close to Aniston confirmed that the allegations weren’t true at all. It should also be noted that during the Friends: The Reunion, the screen time for each cast member is equally divided. Moreover, there’s no reason why Cox would be mad about Aniston and Schwimmer’s revelation.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time the same publication and its sister company released stories about Aniston and other cast members. For instance, Star claimed in May that Aniston was pulling out of the reunion and her decision jeopardized the show. At the time, the outlet’s source said that the actress regrets why she agreed to be part of the comeback.

In 2020, it was reported that LeBlanc and Perry joined a fat camp amidst the pandemic to lose weight before the reunion. But then, none of these claims were proved to be correct and that means the latest one involving Cox and Aniston isn’t also true. After all, the former co-stars are still friends, as well as the rest of the cast.
