Matthew Perry just got engaged to his girlfriend of two years, Molly Hurwitz.

The Friends star shared the happy news via his Instagram account.

Now, in its Dec. 14 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that Perry’s friends are shocked but thrilled to learn that he’s going to tie the knot soon.

After all, there was a time in the actor’s life where his friends thought he wouldn’t survive his addiction. But after he met Hurwitz, Perry’s life changed for the better.

A source claimed it only makes sense for Perry to want to marry Hurwitz because she gave the actor something to live for.

Since the two started dating, Perry is in a much better place, and he’s also sober.

Even though Hurwitz was aware that Perry battled his demons in the past, she still never judged him. Instead, she decided to give the actor some tough love to make sure that he won’t spiral out of control again.

Last summer, Perry’s friends were, allegedly, worried that he’s started taking drugs again after he stepped out in public looking disheveled. But Hurwitz still never left Perry’s side during this time.

Now, the actor is ready to commit, and he, allegedly, has his fiancée to thank.

However, Gossip Cop, questioned by the tabloid, claimed that Perry’s friends were shocked to learn that he got engaged.

The rumor-debunking site said that the tabloid’s skepticism stems from their report last summer about Perry and Hurwitz splitting.

However, the tabloid couldn’t have possibly right then, and they’re also not correct now.

Perry and Hurwitz didn’t split last summer, and it’s not also shocking that the couple wants to tie the knot because this is the natural progression for most relationships.

Meanwhile, there have been other rumors surrounding Perry. Just last week, Woman’s Day claimed that Perry was ready to give a tell-all about his life and his time in Friends.

One of the things that the actor will, allegedly, discuss is his fling with Jennifer Aniston.

Perry also, allegedly, had an agreement with Courteney Cox that they would go out on a date if he stays sober.

However, these claims couldn’t be farther from the truth. Perry didn’t date Aniston and Cox. And all three co-stars are just friends.

In fact, they will soon reunite for a special episode of Friends. The reunion special production was supposed to start earlier this year,, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
