Future Queen of England Kate Middleton has gone way beyond her royal duties during the UK lockdown. Apparently, the Duchess of Cambridge has secretly volunteered during the Covid pandemic.

The Sun reports that Kate Middleton has continually reached out through phone calls to 85-year-old carer Len Gardner.

Len and Kate were connected earlier through the year by The Royal Voluntary Service with the initiative of tackling loneliness during the pandemic.

Mr. Gardner reveals that Kate Middleton reached out to him not once but twice and shared amusing and non-cynical stories regarding her children.

Kate was also kind enough to let Mr. Gardner call her by her real name ‘Catherine’ rather than addressing her with her royal titles.

The 85-year-old carer was chosen by the organization for Kate to contact after his life story resonated with the Duchess. Gardner is the carer of his wife with Alzheimer’s.

Kate Middleton also sent a pasta maker to Gardner after he shared his love for Italian food. When asked by the Duchess if he makes pasta, he said no, explaining that he did not have a pasta maker and could not afford Italian flour used in pasta making.

A week later, the Duchess sent a brand new pasta maker and two bags of 00 Flour from the Buckingham Palace.

“About three days after our conversation, a brand new pasta machine arrived from the Duchess. Two days later, I got two kilos of ‘00’ flour from Buckingham Palace. She is a very, very nice person,” Gardner shares with The Sun.

To the surprise of Len Gardner, the Duchess of Cambridge rang him up once again, this time the future Queen of England shared a story regarding her and Prince William’s three kids.

Gardner is awfully in touch with Kate, reaching out to him not once but twice. He was not expecting to get a call from the royal, neither was he expecting to get gifts and even a personal letter from the Duchess.

He exclaimed his excitement and has framed snippets of his article regarding the call that was published, the letter of Kate with plans to put it up on his ‘royal wall,’ which includes a letter from the Queen from 2018.

This is the second time Kate Middleton has been praised for his philanthropic work this past week. Last week she appeared on her first solo engagement since lockdown regarding her ‘Early Years’ project launched back in 2018.
