A number of musicians are getting good news today as news of the Grammy nominations has come in. One artist that has reached a career milestone today is Harry Styles as he gets his first Grammy nominations.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the former One Direction band member earned three Grammy nominations today for his work on his second album, Fine Line.  Not only are these nominations the first for Styles, but it is also the first for any member of One Direction.

Styles was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video.  Fine Line got the nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album, while Watermelon Sugar was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance. Adore You got the nod for Best Music Video.

While the nominations are certainly something to be happy about, fans of the 26-year-old musician believe that he should have been up for more nominations. According to the Daily Mail, fans think Styles should have also been up for the Album of the Year award and the Song of the Year award.

The publication collated some reactions from Twitter, where reactions almost always described Styles as being “robbed.”

One user said Fine Line and After Hours by The Weeknd deserved Album of the Year nods, while another said that BTS, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd all put out the best albums of the year and should have been recognized for this by the Recording Academy.

Yet another user said that Fine Line was the best album of the year, “no discussion.” Another user cursed out the Grammys and proclaimed that Fine Line is a masterpiece and should have gotten a nomination.

Whether he was robbed of an Album of the Year nomination or not, these three Grammy nods are probably welcome news for Styles as he had to postpone his North American tour back in June as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, Styles emphasized that it was important for his fans to stay safe and the crew that he works with. The singer also promised that he would be back on tour as soon as it is safe.

Style’s Live On Tour North America tour has been rescheduled to the summer of 2021, but that may still change depending on the state of the global coronavirus pandemic in the United States.

As of the Nov. 24 update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the United States now has 12,333,452 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The number of people that have died from COVID-19 is now at 257,016.
