Selena Gomez dialed in to join in a conversation with Apple Music's Zane Lowe as she opened up about the artists she has on her “At Home With” Apple Music playlist, which is slated to debut on Apr. 27 on Apple Music. During the chat, The "Heart Wants What It Wants" singer, talked about H.E.R., touted BFF Taylor Swift as one of the world's greatest songwriters and even divulged details about how Kid Cudi turned her onto Da Brat and Missy Elliot.

As soon as Billie Eilish's subject came up, Sel pointed out that her Everything I Ever Wanted hit strikes a nerve in her as she identifies with it so closely. Referring to her song Xanny, Selena said Billie is aware of what the industry can be and become.

Speaking about the track, she admitted that she sobbed after listening to it. "I’ve been doing this for so long and it’s like, ‘damn, that’s so true,'” Selena said. During the interview, she said there have been several moments in her life when she realized it didn't matter who you are, and multiple moments when she thought it was the end. Nevertheless, Selena says Billie is an amazing artist who deserves every single thing she got and has.

Billie Eilish wrote in a tweet in Nov. 2019 that Everything I wanted to be all about her and her brother Finneas' relationship as siblings. Billie had a dream that she killed herself and nobody, including her best friends, colleagues cared and they came out in public claiming they never liked her.

She saw that her fans didn't care and she was strongly criticized for killing herself. All these things, coupled with family, fans, and friends' unemotional response to her death (although hypothetical) messed her up and struck a chord with Selena, which is why she added the song on her playlist.

During the conversation, she told Zane that the quarantine has given her an unmissable chance to explore different types of music. Noting that the song was more last minute, but she realized that it had a reoccurring theme. She felt these songs are loaded with interesting storytelling and most of these pivotal songs left her in a trance, inspiring her to then listen to other kinds of music.

While most of these songs are based on strong lyrics, love, and pain, some party songs make her feel like she's a kid again. Selena's quarantining tip is to find a routine and structure.
