Meghan Markle has been correcting misconceptions about her in her individual interviews. And it seems she’s been avoiding giving one explosive interview like what Princess Diana did in 1995.

Back then, the Princess of Wales spoke with Martin Bashir for Panorama, where she revealed that she suffered from bulimia. She also talked about Prince Charles’ future role as king, as well as his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Princess Diana’s shocking revelations rocked not only the royal family but the entire world. And decades later, it seems her daughter-in-law is the one receiving the most flak from the press.

According to Heat, Markle is very strategic in the way that she’s addressing the rumors surrounding herself now that she’s no longer a senior working royal. And unlike Princess Diana, she doesn’t have any plans to sit down for a tell-all interview.

Rather, Markle simply tries to interject the misconceptions about her in the topics being discussed during her virtual interviews. For instance, she recently talked about being the most trolled person online in 2019. And she also said that the criticisms surrounding her while she was pregnant have become “unsurvivable.”

“We’re told she’s going and steady, taking her time to address all the untruths and misconceptions about her while avoiding drawing too many parallels to Diana. And if she drops a few digs at the royal family in the process, then so be it. Meghan knows it would be playing into her critics’ hands if she gave a blockbuster sit-down interview,” the source said.

“The source said that Markle wants to limit the hysteria surrounding her and Harry, and she’s also keen to draw people’s attention towards the positive things they’re doing. But that’s not to say she doesn’t want to address all the untruths and misconceptions about herself. She just wants to do it in a more dignified, strategic way, which means staggering out her messages at the right time and on the right platform,” the source said.

According to the insider, Markle feels even more empowered in her own country.

“When she steps forward to make a speech or promote a project, she won’t think twice about slipping in her own stories or anecdotes to fit the topic. As far as she’s concerned, it’s the best way to finally set things straight, slowly but surely,” the source said.

Markle and Prince Harry also made headlines recently after royal experts accused them of being preachy. The couple has been weighing in the US elections, issues of racism, and more.
