The ongoing conflict between royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry, has been heavily discussed by the media for quite some time now. It is a well-known fact that the brother’s fallout became most severe in the years between 2016 and 2017.

As written by royal historian and biographer Robert Lacey in his new book ‘Battle of Brothers’, Prince Harry’s Nazi costume in 2005 was the stepping stone between the brother’s rift.

But it was not until Prince Harry started to take an interest in an American actress introduced to him by a common friend back 2016 that the brother’s truly had a difference.

Meghan Markle’s entrance into the life of Prince Harry was somewhat of a big deal to the family. The 5th-in-line to the throne at that time was at an age where royals should already be married and have their own family.

Markle was indeed someone that the royal firm had to look at as a serious matter to Prince Harry.

As described by many of Harry and Meghan’s love affair, the whirlwind romance was so immediate that the royal firm was unable to contain all of the negative effects this had on the family.

Most importantly, how Prince William sought to advise his younger brother to ‘take it slow’ with the actress.

Prince Harry was head over heels by this time with Meghan and in 2016, the rumors of the two dating were revealed. Not even a year after getting to know each other, Prince Harry proposed.

This drove Prince William, the future King of England to talk to his brother, urging Harry to think about his actions and even bringing in their uncle Earl Charles Spencer for help.

The brothers' explosive confrontation drove their relationship into the wall and could not be mended anymore.

According to Lacey, William’s advice was out of concern for his little brother. He writes that the ‘ambitious’ Meghan Markle was a threat to the royal family and she was considered dangerous.

William’s solicitation of Earl Spencer’s support was out of concern for Prince Harry and not at all a swipe at his love affair with Meghan Markle.

But Prince Harry was said to take this the wrong way, looking at it as Prince William’s way of protecting the firm's future.

Of course, Prince Harry took a stand against his older brother and decidedly left the royal firm not even two years after marrying Meghan Markle.
