Saturday Night Live star, Chloe Fineman was recently tapped to play Drew Barrymore in a hilarious skit mocking Ellen DeGeneres’ recent apology.

In the clip, a voice-over says that there’s a new face in the daytime, which is a reference to Barrymore. After all, the actress’s talk show just premiered recently and there are claims that her ratings are much better than the rating of Ellen Show.

“After seeing what went down with Ellen, we took a hard turn in the other direction. And don’t worry about her being mean to the crew – they say she maintains eye contact too long and is too emotionally supportive,” the voice-over added.

In the clip, Fineman is running after a cameraman because she wants to give him a hug. According to reports, DeGeneres is mean towards her staff, and she doesn’t also like to make eye contact.

Shortly after the skit aired, Barrymore took her thoughts to Twitter and gave Fineman and the people behind Saturday Night Live her approval.

“@nbcsnl and @chloefineman is the greatest thing. I have loved SNL for as long as I know, and to also have @DrewBarrymoreTV brought to the party is so fun. Honored to be apart of it. PS #DREWSNEWS hearts #WEEKENDUPDATE" - @DrewBarrymore,” she tweeted alongside photos of her watching Fineman on television.

DeGeneres was criticized after she apologized to former staff and her fans on Ellen Show. After all, the comedian tried to incorporate jokes into her apology, and this didn’t sit well with a lot of people.

“Not only did Ellen turn my trauma, turn our traumas, into a joke, she somehow managed to make this about her,” one former employee told BuzzFeed News.

“When she said, ‘Oh, my summer was great’ and that was supposed to be funny I thought, ‘It’s funny that you had a rough summer because everyone was calling out all of the allegations of your toxic work environment and now you’re the one suffering?’” another former employee said.

On social media, some people also called DeGeneres’ apology as fake. And they also said that the funny woman missed the mark.

According to National Enquirer, DeGeneres cannot solely be blamed for her apology because her wife, Portia de Rossi, allegedly, wrote the piece with her. And DeGeneres, reportedly, recorded it days before Ellen Show premiered.
