The U.S. Supreme Court justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg who died of pancreatic cancer on September 18, 2020, had an important and comprehensible dying wish. As per a report from NPR, weeks before the gender-equality queen died, she told her granddaughter that she didn’t want to be replaced until a new President comes and takes over the office.

But President Donald Trump is expected to turn down the dying wish the widely-revered Justice had and may nominate her replacement in just the next coming days. At the same time, Trump’s Democratic rival and presidential candidate Joe Biden is demanding the administration to wait until election results are announced and the next president is installed so that RBG’s wish may come true. In the same spirit, Obama has called on the Trump administration not to file for vacancy immediately.

When Trump was informed that the Supreme Court Justice had passed away, his reaction came as a surprise. Post his rally in Minnesota, responding to a reporter question on RBG’s death, Trump said that the influential woman led an “amazing life.”

The odds are high that Trump would rush through the process and get his own pick nominated to be the next Supreme Court Justice.

Trump is expected to scan through the nomination list comprising 20 names he announced last week and pick one nominee that will then go through the Senate vetting process.

Among the top favorites is U.S. Circuit Judge Amy Coney Barrett who is reputed for having a strong pro-life stance.

According to what the insiders suggest, the Republican Senators headed by Mitt Romney will lead a rebellion to scupper Trump's chances of a rushed process.

Liberals across the nation have expressed fears that RBG’s death and her Trump-found nomination would lead to some unacceptable changes in the system and laws of the country such as the removal of the Roe v Wade judgment, according to which abortion is legal nationwide.

The Republican Senator Mitch McConnell praised RBG for all the positive changes she brought about and has also said that he would have the President select the nominee to replace RBG in court.

Mitch said, "In the last midterm election before Justice Scalia’s death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck president’s second term, President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate."

Trump is yet to respond to reports if he is really going to announce the nomination soon.
