The Frogmore Cottage scandal that involved Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been knocking on their door since their exit from the royal firm. Despite the couple having been able to pay the entirety of the cost of refurbishing the home, people still claim that the two should no longer go back to the United Kingdom.

Harry and Meghan released a statement through their office that they have made a contribution to the royal firm, and that their debt for refurbishing Frogmore Cottage has been paid.

The couple who lived in the cottage for not greater than eight months flipped the house inside out and were with no regard to the cost whatsoever.

The renovations were made and totaled to a whopping $3 million. The money they used were from British taxpayers. When the news came out that Harry and Meghan were leaving the royal family and thus leaving their newly refurbished home, sent millions into a rage.

Harry and Meghan did not intend to hurt anyone with their decision and thus they ended up with a deal where they were to make payments monthly for the renovations.

But due to their ludicrous deal with the streaming giant, Netflix, the two paid the debt this week. According to royal experts, the two may have hatched a plan for paying the refurbishments fully.

Harry and Meghan are said to be looking for loopholes to get the money back. Royal expert, Rachel Bowie, revealed that if the Sussex’s decision to give up their rights of Frogmore, the money will be returned to them.

"I did not realize this but reading more and more about the Frogmore cottage payment they will get that money back if they ever decided to give that house back to the Queen. They will recoup that money because it is a historic UK residence of the Royal Family. So, whenever they do give that house back and say we no longer need a house in the UK they get the £2.4million,” Bowie commented.

Their payment may seem like a fallback fund for them if times get hard, the two who are now based in California have no plans to go back to the UK anytime soon.

Although the Frogmore Cottage is Harry and Meghan’s permanent home in the UK, they might decide to forego that right and instead get the money back and keep it. This is the loophole the Sussex’s are looking at.

The couple has not released a statement regarding any plans of letting Frogmore Cottage go, instead, they are happy to have paid the British citizen their money back.
