There are very few people who are unaware of the ongoing contentious custody battle of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The actor’s counsels claim the actress is using delay tactics to prolong the case.

The former power couple’s custody case has now been dragging for around four years. Reports have it that the Salt actress has been active to disqualify the judge who is in charge of their case.

Meanwhile, the actor’s legal counsel criticized Angie for trying to delay the case, which is yet to reach any logical conclusion. The hearing could get postponed because of the actress’s recent filings.

The 45-year-old filed an appeal on Aug. 7, 2020, where she requested the removal of Judge W. Ouderkirk who is looking after their divorce hearing. The documents filed by the Maleficent actress claimed that the judge could be partial as he did not disclose his business interests with one of Pitt’s attorneys, People magazine reports.

The actor’s legal team criticized her latest step and called it an attempt to further detain the pending custody issues. The 56-year-old actor filed a document where he alleged his former wife to hold up their case.

He even referred to her move as “Hail Mary.” It is a terminology used in American soccer when either side makes deliberate attempts to delay the game. The counsels added that the actress was already aware of the judge's interests and she did not object to this previously.

Brad Pitt’s filed document further insists that their kids would be the ones to get most affected because of this delay tactic. It went on to state that the party’s children would be denied of a fruitful resolution of all the long-pending custody issues.

Meanwhile, Mirror.co.uk has claimed that they have contacted Pitt’s representative for remarks. On the other hand, Samantha Bley DeJean, Angelina Jolie’s lawyer, reportedly, said that it was unfortunate that Pitt’s team decided to speak out even before the judge could respond.

She further said that the move has been made to influence or block the judge’s response. It was also claimed that the delay in the court proceeding is an attempt to generate an exception for benefitting their client (Pitt).

Pitt and Angie exchanged their vows in 2014 but decided to part ways only two years later. They cited irreconcilable differences in filing the divorce.

However, their case is pending since 2016 and has, reportedly, been a bitter one. While a judge declared that Pitt and Jolie were officially single in 2019, their divorce is yet to be finalized.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s case remains unresolved over the kind of custody they will have over their kids.
