If there is something that 2020 showed clearly, it must be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's poor timing at everything.

Recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their new Archewell charitable foundation, and instead of getting positive feedback such moves usually get, the two were bashed.

First, they did it at the time when PM Boris Johnson is being transferred to the ICU for his fight against the coronavirus. Many believe that the two were merely striving to shift people's attention to them.

Second, they did it as the world is struggling with the coronavirus pandemic. Many believe that it was simply not the time to announce any achievement or the like. Some said this is merely another vanity project that they should have waited to announce.

On their part, however, the couple claimed they were merely compelled to announcing their plans at this time. Moreover, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have decided to delay the announcement of the charitable organization's full details.

The Duke and Duchess told The Telegraph, "Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be."

However, the damage is done, and netizens have already criticized them left and right. Critics are not mere ordinary invidious, though. Some of them are known in their respective fields, and their choice of words for the two is as negative as it could be.

Phil Dampier told Mail Online that the announcement was simply "an appalling timing' if not the worst possible timing. Had he been the couple, he would just keep mum until the whole coronavirus crisis is over. People everywhere are already worried sick about what is going to happen in the future over the situation, and the announcements seem to have just ignored it. Dampier has been writing about the Royal family for 33 years already so he has a lot of insights into how royals' actions can be perceived.

This is why it is not surprising that in Twitterverse, many called the couple out, claiming they really are detached from reality.

Another sign that the two are full of badly-timed actions this year is Megxit itself. After the split from the royal family becomes officially at the end of March and them going to LA, some claimed that they did it at the wrong time.

Their reasons may be completely valid - financial independence and professional growth - but what people can just see is that they left the UK at its weakest and darkest time. Prince Harry, in particular, according to malicious reports, is bearing the brunt of the criticisms on this front. Some claimed that he left his own family, especially Queen Elizabeth on this trying period
