The 24-year-old English singer, Dua Lipa, shared another statement to back and clarify her post about the sole rights of indigenous Kosovar Albanians.

The New Rules pop singer seeks to clarify the backlash she received on Twitter about her posting a photo of the Albanian map and its eagle emblem. The caption writes about fighting the rights of Kosovar Albanians to be hailed as indigenous people.

Dua Lipa's blood runs Kosovo blood, which she spent most of her childhood even having an Albanian heritage. The caption starts with, "au•toch•tho•nous adjective," then adding to blurt out that Kosovo does not come from the roots of migrants or colonists.

The pop star's tweet became an instant viral, leading the critics to challenge Dua Lipa's accuracy, referencing the far-right "Greater Albania" ideology, as the said map houses various regions.

With all the backlash and hate comments Dua Lipa received from her tweet, many of her fans came to stand beside their idol, including a Twitter account named "Team Albanians," saying the Break My Heart singer's opinion is not a "hate speech," NME reported.

Two days after, Dua Lipa came to clarify the social media commotion she does not mean to start. "It makes me sad and angry that my post has been wilfully misinterpreted," she said. She never wanted to "incite" any hate to her tweet, but many concluded her objective as promoting "ethnic separatism," which she disagrees with.

She also added how people on social media are very rapid to misinterpret her Kosovo related posts, even if it is about music or food. She said that she could not stop herself from posting such content as she grew up in "authentic Kosovan culture."

Furthermore, Dua Lipa promotes everyone to be proud of their roots and where they are hailed from. She then explained that her tweet is her best way to urge the concerned people to have her country be presented on a map as an independent nation. She concluded her post by demanding everyone to embrace one's heritage and to learn from one another.

The Let You Love Me singer, Rita Ora, supported Dua Lipa's cause by backing up a petition that demands Kosovo to be available on Apple Maps, tagging it as an independent nation, Independent reported. Rita Ora is a British singer who links her roots to Kosovo. Ora pointed out that Albania and Kosovo offer so much beauty and talents.
