There are many celebrities that don't stay in the business for long, on the other hand, Tom Hanks is one such personality that is meant to stay forever. The actor has won not only two Academy Awards but also the hearts of the audiences through his classics around the globe.

However, recently the actor stepped back from a recent comment he made on his movie releasing on an online streaming platform instead of a big screen. The 63-year-old actor has been flaunting his talent on the silver screen for decades and that makes it reasonable for him to feel disappointed as his upcoming movie, Greyhound is set to release on an online streaming platform instead.

When the news broke, the actor revealed that he is heartbroken. He told in an interview that he doesn't want to make Apple angry but shared that there is a huge difference watching the movie in cinema halls and smart devices in terms of sound and picture.

He further told that the main reason for being upset is that 800 people won't be able to walk into the cinema hall as strangers and walk out with something common within 88 minutes. However, it seems the company didn't take the "Apple overload" comments very well and as a result, Hanks was all praise about the company because it rescued the movie in his recent interview.

The actor spoke about the nationwide shutdown of the cinema halls and tried to shift the attention. The Academy Award winner said that he is glad that Apple TV+ is helping the movie Greyhound to make it possible for audiences to watch. However, he clarified that its COVID-19 that is heartbreaking.

“It closed down the theaters. We don’t have the cinema. There isn’t anybody that doesn’t like going to see a good movie with 800 other people and coming out with something in common,” he added. Despite the pandemic, Hanks thanked Apple TV+ for allowing the movie to see the light and defended himself by indicating his purpose of calling the online streaming platform release "heartbreaking".

With a movie like Greyhound that has a legendary actor playing the lead such as Hanks, it seems Apple TV+ could gain some good amount of subscribers. As Hollywood is trying to get "new normal" in place, it will be fascinating to analyze how online streaming platforms are going to take business from the theatres.
