Nicole Kidman had a couple of miscarriages when she was married to Tom Cruise. The actress revealed her pain and agony after the loss.

The Big Little Lies actress suffered miscarriages twice during her pregnancies. The actress was married to Tom Cruise for more than a decade.

Kidman was only 23-years-old when she had her first miscarriage. She was married to the Top Gun star from 1990 to 2001. Although the actress suffered the loss in the nineties, she can still recall her trauma.

The actress spoke to Tatler and opened up about her first pregnancy at a young age. Many years later, she was pregnant once again and suffered her second miscarriage just before Cruise filed the divorce petition.

The actress told ET Canada that she is aware of “the yearning.” Kidman feels that the loss of a baby because of a miscarriage is not discussed widely. The actress thinks it is huge grief for many women.

After her miscarriage, Cruise and Kidman decided to adopt two children: Isabella and Connor. Yet, the couple kept trying for a biological baby but the actress had her second miscarriage in 2001. It was around the same time they were about to part ways.

Nicole Kidman had previously mentioned in an interview that from the time the Mission Impossible star and she got married, they wanted to have kids of their own. She admitted it was very traumatic for her when she lost a child early on.

After Kidman lost a baby for the first time, she and Tom Cruise decided to adopt Isabella. The actress said so in an interview in 2007.

The Bombshell actress subsequently tied the knot with country singer Keith Urban and shares two lovely daughters with him. The actress feels that after going through so much pain and yearning, the feeling is amazing when one has a child.

The Eyes Wide Shut star seems to be extremely proud of her two biological daughters. The actress has also admitted how protective she is of her daughters because of her two miscarriages.

Kidman had revealed in the past how she did not like anyone to be close to her babies. She and her husband even decided not to sell pictures of her children because of the same reason.

She wanted to have their “little cocoon” and protect her children. The actress added it was more like a “painful love” when she became a mother at 41.

Apart from Nicole Kidman, many other celebrities including Courteney Cox, Pink, and Beyonce have also opened up about their miscarriages in the past.
