Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has made a controversial comparison, stating that Donald Trump's current legal predicament puts him in the same category as Jesus Christ and Nelson Mandela. The Georgia lawmaker made this claim on Tuesday as Trump was being booked and arraigned in New York City.

In an interview with Right Side Broadcasting Network from her SUV, Greene said, "President Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history in being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government." She then continued to express her disbelief and unwavering support for Trump, stating that he has done nothing wrong.

Trump soon appeared on the scene, arriving at the courthouse in a large motorcade. He waved to both supporters and protestors outside Trump Tower, raising his right fist in the air as a sign of defiance.

Greene's comments suggest that Trump is among a long line of individuals who have been "arrested and persecuted by radical, corrupt governments." This narrative began with Trump's arrest on more than 30 counts of business-related fraud, including an alleged $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their purported affair.

This comparison is not the first instance of Trump's legal team drawing parallels between the former president and other famous figures. Trump's attorney previously likened him to Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., another surprising association.

While the comparison between Trump, Jesus, and Mandela has sparked debate, it highlights the ongoing political divisions in the United States. The former president's supporters continue to rally behind him, while his opponents argue that his legal troubles are evidence of past wrongdoing.
